Using Multimedia

In my role as a Learning & Development Specialist, I have created various multimedia in order to create engaging training and presentations for my learners. Please take a moment to view some examples of projects I have worked on.

Lesson from Leaders

This was a regular webinar that took place at Boston Scientific for several years, where an L&D Manager interviewed one of our senior leaders. I cleaned up the audio from these monthly webinars, using Audacity, and repackaged as a narrated presentation. This allowed us to share this with a wider audience. I used software called Brainshark, which added the ability to solicit questions/feedback from our audience, as well as track views.

Below is one of our episodes.

Innovation Podcast

For another project, I was approached by one of our businesses to help launch a new podcast channel. This became part of a larger Innovation Center of Excellence created at BSC. None of the people involved had any prior experience with podcasting. I was asked to research how to plan a new podcast, provide equipment recommendations and to coach two of my colleagues on interviewing both in person and over Skype. I recorded each episode, edited and created 6 finished episodes to get them started.

Innovation Podcast

Through this project, I was able to become very proficient at using Adobe Audition. I then trained someone internal to their team on the process that we created, in order to take over.

Below is our ‘episode 0’, where we describe what we plan to accomplish with our Innovation podcast.

For more information on my involvement with this project, you may email Robert Wilson or Alesia Briggs.

Video

Also while at Boston Scientific, I was tasked with improving how we use video in our courses. Early on, I attended a week long course at Cornell University on shooting video. This has helped me to provide recommendations to my team on what equipment to purchase for our needs. Through these projects I have become proficient at using Adobe Premiere.

Some of the types of video projects that I have created are:

Course Materials

In my role as a Learning & Development Specialist, I am responsible for creating documents on a daily basis. Some examples include; facilitator guides for our virtual courses, participant workbooks for our senior leadership development program, job aids, as well as scripts for voice-over/narrated presentations.

Here is a facilitator guide I created for one of the live virtual sessions at BSC, “HR Excellence- Consulting Skills”.
